Spring 2024 Paper Lantern Launch Party

When: Friday, May 3 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. in CS1040. 

The spring 2024 issue of The Paper Lantern has arrived! The magazine will be holding a launch party to celebrate the issue. 

Come listen to the contributors read from the issue while enjoying free pizza. The AFA Capstone class, who edited and designed the issue, will also be participating in a brand-new bad love poem competition. 

All are welcome to attend. See you there!

Michael Kleber-Diggs Visit

When: Friday, February 4, 2022

Michael Kleber-Diggs is the author of Worldly Things, which was awarded the 2020 Max Ritvo Poetry Prize. He was born and raised in Kansas and now lives in St. Paul, Minnesota. His work has appeared in Lit Hub, the RumpusRain Taxi, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, Water~Stone ReviewMidway ReviewNorth Dakota Quarterly and a few anthologies. Michael teaches poetry and creative non-fiction through the Minnesota Prison Writers Workshop.

Tommy Orange Visit

When: Tuesday April 5, 2022

Tommy Orange is an American novelist and writer from Oakland, California. His first book, There There (2018), was a finalist for the 2019 Pulitzer Prize and received the 2019 American Book Award. Orange is a citizen of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma. He earned a Masters in Fine Arts from the Institute of American Indian Arts. He was born and raised in the Dimond District Oakland, California, and resides in Angels Camp, California, with his wife, Kateri, and his son, Felix.
